Service Agreement for the Community Discussion Board

This agreement is between JESSICA ANN DIEHL PHD, operating as Publish It! ("Host"), and any individual who joins or participates in The Watering Hole community discussion board ("Member"). By joining the community, Member agrees to the terms below.
About the community
The Watering Hole is a free virtual community discussion board open to academics, researchers, graduate students, and practitioners at any career stage. Membership is independent of enrollment in any Publish It! course or service. Members who are also enrolled in a paid course or service remain subject to the terms of their respective course or service agreement in addition to this agreement.
Nature of participation
The Host participates in the community as both an academic writer and a mentor. Any responses, advice, or feedback provided by the Host within the community are educational and advisory in nature and do not constitute professional, legal, medical, or any other form of licensed professional advice. No Host contribution to the community creates a client relationship of any kind.
Member conduct
Members agree to engage respectfully and constructively at all times. Conduct that is harassing, discriminatory, abusive, or otherwise harmful to other Members or to the Host is prohibited. Self-promotion unrelated to academic writing, publishing, or research is not permitted. Members agree not to share spam, misinformation, or content that violates the intellectual property rights of others.
The Host reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms at her sole discretion.
Confidentiality and shared content
Members frequently share works in progress, unpublished research, and personal professional experiences in this community. Members agree to treat the contributions of other Members as confidential and to not share, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use another Member's contributions outside of the community without that Member's explicit written permission.
Members acknowledge that The Watering Hole is a shared digital space and that, despite the expectations set out above, the Host cannot guarantee the confidentiality of content posted within the community. By posting in the community, Members accept that their contributions may be seen and retained by other Members, and that the Host bears no liability for the actions of other Members with respect to shared content.
The Host will not share, reproduce, or use any Member's contributions outside of the community without that Member's explicit written permission.
Intellectual property
Members retain full ownership of all original content they contribute to the community. By posting in the community, Members grant the Host a limited, non-exclusive license to display their contributions within the community platform for the purposes of facilitating discussion. No broader rights are granted or implied.
Community resources, frameworks, and materials created and shared by the Host are the intellectual property of JESSICA ANN DIEHL PHD and may not be shared, redistributed, or reproduced without written permission.
Moderation
The Host moderates the community on a best-efforts basis. No commitment is made regarding response times or the frequency of Host participation. The Host reserves the right to modify community guidelines, remove content, or take other moderation actions as needed to maintain a safe and productive environment.
Termination of membership
The Host reserves the right to remove any Member from the community for conduct that violates this agreement or that is otherwise determined to be harmful to the community. Members will be notified at the time of removal. As membership is free, no refund or compensation is owed upon removal.
Members may leave the community at any time.
Limitation of liability
The Host's liability to any Member is limited to the amount paid for community membership, which is zero. The Host makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy of information shared by other Members, publication outcomes, or any other result arising from participation in the community.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
Changes to this agreement
The Host may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at jessica-diehl.com. Continued participation in the community following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
