Service Agreement for Live cohort courses

This agreement is between JESSICA ANN DIEHL PHD, operating as Publish It! ("Instructor"), and the individual enrolling in a live cohort course ("Participant"). By completing enrollment, Participant agrees to the terms below.

The course

Each live cohort course is a structured, time-limited program delivered via Zoom. Course components may include pre-recorded tutorials, weekly 1:1 sessions with the Instructor, group sessions, and access to a private community discussion board. Cohort size is limited and specified on the course landing page. Full course details, schedule, workload expectations, and pricing are described on the relevant course landing page and at checkout.

Instructor's guidance is educational and advisory in nature. Nothing in this course constitutes legal, medical, or professional advice of any other kind.

Enrollment and access

Enrollment closes on the course start date or when the cohort reaches capacity, whichever comes first. Upon enrollment, Participant receives access to the community discussion board immediately. Course materials, including pre-recorded tutorials, are released on a weekly schedule throughout the course and are not available all at once.

Access to released course materials is granted with no expiration date and is for the sole use of the enrolling Participant. Materials may not be shared, redistributed, or reproduced without written permission.

Scheduling and attendance

Weekly 1:1 sessions are scheduled directly with the Instructor around Participant's availability. Sessions must be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or where Participant does not attend without notice, will be counted as a used session.

Group sessions, where included, run on a fixed schedule published on the course landing page. Instructor will make reasonable efforts to reschedule sessions cancelled on her end and will not count those against the Participant.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment, or according to the installment schedule selected at checkout, where available. All prices are in USD. Enrollment is not confirmed until payment is received.

Refund policy

Participants may request a full refund within 14 days of the course start date by emailing Jessica directly. No explanation is required. Refund requests received after this window will not be processed.

Participant conduct

Participants are expected to engage respectfully in all course spaces, including 1:1 sessions, Write With Me sessions, and the community discussion board. Participation in the community discussion board is governed by the Publish It! Community Agreement, which Participants agree to upon joining. Instructor reserves the right to remove a Participant from the course for conduct that is disruptive, harassing, or otherwise harmful to other Participants or to the Instructor, without refund outside the 14-day window.

Confidentiality

All materials shared by Participants during the course — including drafts, research, and personal information — will be kept strictly confidential by the Instructor. Participants agree to treat the work and contributions of other Participants in the community discussion board with the same confidentiality.

Intellectual property

Participants retain full ownership of all work submitted or discussed during the course. Course materials — including tutorials, frameworks, workbooks, and written resources — are the intellectual property of JESSICA ANN DIEHL PHD and may not be shared, redistributed, or reproduced without written permission.

Limitation of liability

Instructor's liability is limited to the amount paid for enrollment. Instructor makes no guarantees regarding publication outcomes, peer review results, journal acceptance, or any other third-party decision.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.

Changes to this agreement

Instructor may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at jessica-diehl.com. Terms in effect at the time of enrollment govern that transaction.
