Service Agreement for 1:1 Services

This agreement is between Jessica Ann Diehl PhD, operating as Publish It! ("Consultant"), and the individual purchasing a service ("Client"). By completing a purchase, Client agrees to the terms below, as well as any offer-specific terms presented at checkout.
Who this agreement covers
These terms apply to all 1:1 services offered through jessica-diehl.com, including coaching, consulting, manuscript review, copy-editing, and abstract review. Offer-specific terms are provided at checkout and are incorporated into this agreement by reference.
Services
Consultant will provide the service described in the offer at the time of purchase. All sessions are conducted via Zoom unless otherwise agreed in writing. Written feedback is delivered by email.
Consultant's services are advisory and educational in nature. Nothing in this agreement or in any session or written feedback constitutes legal, medical, or professional advice of any other kind.
Scheduling and attendance
Clients are responsible for scheduling sessions using the booking link provided after purchase. Sessions must be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or where Client does not attend without notice, will be counted as a used session.
Consultant will make reasonable efforts to reschedule sessions cancelled on her end and will not count those against the Client's hours.
Session expiration
Purchased hours for coaching and consulting packages must be used within 12 months of the purchase date. Unused hours after this period are forfeited. Extensions may be granted at Consultant's discretion upon written request.
Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of purchase, or according to the payment plan schedule selected at checkout, where available. All prices are in USD. For copy-editing services, an estimate is provided before purchase; payment is due upon acceptance of the estimate.
Refunds and cancellations
All purchases are non-refundable, with the following exception: copy-editing services may be cancelled after work has begun, in which case Client is responsible for payment of hours already worked, and any remaining balance will be released.

Confidentiality
Consultant will keep all submitted materials and session content strictly confidential. Client's work, research, and personal information will not be shared, referenced, or reproduced without explicit written permission.
Intellectual property
Client retains full ownership of all work submitted or discussed. Nothing in this agreement transfers any rights to Consultant. Consultant retains ownership of any frameworks, tools, or materials she creates and shares in the course of service delivery.
Limitation of liability
Consultant's liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. Consultant makes no guarantees regarding publication outcomes, peer review results, journal acceptance, grant funding, or any other third-party decision.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
Changes to this agreement
Consultant may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at jessica-diehl.com. Terms in effect at the time of purchase govern that transaction.
