This agreement is between Jessica Ann Diehl, PhD, operating as Publish It! ("Instructor"), and the individual enrolling in the Publish It! Private Beta Workshop ("Participant"). By checking the box at checkout, Participant agrees to the terms below.
Â
1. The program
The Publish It! Private Beta Workshop("the Program") is a 1:1 coaching and consulting program that supports Participant in developing one research manuscript from analyzed data toward submission to a peer-reviewed journal. The Program runs for ten weeks of work from December 6, 2026 to February 20, 2027, including a holiday period from December 20, 2026 to January 2, 2027. Sessions are held over Zoom.
The Program includes:
- About 16 hours of 1:1 sessions with Instructor, including outlining sessions, coaching, and developmental edits on Participant's introduction, discussion and full manuscript (section 4)
- Decision Support for the Program manuscript through August 31, 2028 (section 5)
- Ten course modules, each as a pre-recorded video, an interactive web page and a workbook, available from December 6, 2026
- Write With Me sessions twice a week and the Watering Hole, a private discussion board
The schedule, weekly topics and estimated writing time are described on the Program page. The order of weeks may be adjusted to suit Participant's manuscript.
This is the first run of the Program. Instructor may refine materials, sessions and schedules during the Program in response to participant feedback, without reducing the 1:1 hours or Decision Support described here.
2. Eligibility and enrollment
Enrollment is by invitation after a fit call. The Program is intended for a manuscript whose data analysis is complete or close to complete. Enrollment closes November 30, 2026, or when the cohort is full, whichever comes first.
The Program supports one manuscript. Participant may change the manuscript before the first 1:1 session; after that, 1:1 sessions and Decision Support apply to the manuscript developed in the Program.
3. Payment, refunds and cancellation
The fee is $500 USD, paid in full at enrollment. Enrollment is confirmed when payment is received.
The fee reflects a founding price offered in exchange for the feedback described in section 6. It is not combined with any other discount or credit.
No refunds once the Program begins. Participant may request a full refund by emailing Instructor before December 6, 2026. From December 6, 2026 onward, the fee is non-refundable, including if Participant stops participating, falls behind, or does not use all of their 1:1 hours or Decision Support.
If the Program does not run. If Instructor decides by November 30, 2026 not to run the Program, Participant receives a full refund. If Instructor is unable to continue the Program after it begins, she will reschedule the remaining sessions or refund the unused portion of the fee, calculated from the 1:1 hours not yet delivered at $30 per hour.
4. 1:1 sessions and hours
Hours. Participant receives about 16 hours of 1:1 work with Instructor, allocated across the Program as described on the Program page. Developmental edits (time Instructor spends reading and editing Participant's draft before a session) count toward these hours.
Scheduling. Sessions are scheduled with Instructor around Participant's availability, through the booking link provided before the Program starts. Instructor is unavailable December 24–25, 2026 and December 30, 2026 to January 2, 2027.
Rescheduling and missed sessions. Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, counts as used. Sessions Instructor cancels are rescheduled and do not count against Participant.
Draft deadlines. Developmental edits depend on drafts arriving on time. The full manuscript draft is due January 30, 2027. If a draft arrives late, Instructor will complete the edit as her schedule allows, which may be later than the Program schedule shows.
Using hours. 1:1 hours must be used by March 31, 2027. Hours not used by that date expire and are not refunded, carried over or converted into Decision Support.
What 1:1 work is not. The Program does not include line-by-line copy-editing or proofreading, writing or rewriting Participant's manuscript, statistical or data analysis, or submission on Participant's behalf. Copy-editing is available separately at the alumni rate.
5. Decision Support
Decision Support applies to the manuscript developed in the Program, for editorial decisions Participant receives on or before August 31, 2028.
Revise and resubmit (up to two rounds in total). For each round, after Participant forwards the decision letter and reviewer comments:
- A written or recorded summary of what reviewers are asking for, within 72 hours
- A one-hour session within 14 days of the letter to plan the revision and set a resubmission date
- A 30-minute check-in midway through the revision
- A review of Participant's response to reviewers before it is submitted
Rejection. A one-hour session to redirect the manuscript to another journal.
Revise & Resubmit It! Access to the self-paced workshop throughout the Decision Support period.
Support beyond two revise-and-resubmit rounds, for other manuscripts, or after August 31, 2028 is available at the alumni consulting rate of $90 per hour.
6. Beta commitments
In exchange for the founding price, Participant agrees to:
- Work on the manuscript across the ten weeks and attend scheduled 1:1 sessions
- Answer short feedback questions at the start, midpoint (week 5) and end (week 10) of the Program, and take part in a short exit conversation
Instructor will also ask for a testimonial at week 10 and, if Participant is willing, when the manuscript is accepted. Testimonials are voluntary. Instructor will publish a testimonial only with Participant's written approval of the wording and of how Participant is named.
Instructor may use feedback and progress information to improve the Program and may describe results in aggregate (for example, "four of five participants submitted by week 10"). Instructor will not publish or share anything that identifies Participant or their research without Participant's written permission.
7. Course materials and community
Access. Course materials are available for as long as Instructor operates jessica-diehl.com. They are for Participant's personal use only and may not be shared, redistributed or reproduced without written permission.
Write With Me and the Watering Hole are offered during the Program and continue afterward for as long as Instructor runs them. Attendance at Write With Me is optional.
Conduct. Participant agrees to engage respectfully in 1:1 sessions, Write With Me and the Watering Hole. Instructor may remove a Participant from the Program for conduct that is harassing, disruptive or harmful to other participants or to Instructor. Removal does not entitle Participant to a refund.
8. AI use and recording
Instructor's use of AI. Instructor does not use AI tools to edit, review or write Participant's work, and will never upload any part of Participant's manuscript, data or other materials into an AI tool.
Participant's use of AI. Participant agrees to tell Instructor if they use AI tools in drafting the manuscript. Instructor will provide a checklist for disclosing AI use to journals. Meeting journal requirements on AI disclosure is Participant's responsibility.
Session recording. With Participant's agreement at the start of a session, Instructor may use Zoom's meeting summary feature and will share the summary with Participant. Sessions are not recorded or summarized without Participant's agreement.
9. Confidentiality and intellectual property
Instructor will keep Participant's drafts, data, research and personal information strictly confidential. Participant agrees to treat other participants' work and contributions in Write With Me and the Watering Hole with the same confidentiality.
Participant retains full ownership of their manuscript and all work submitted or discussed during the Program. Instructor's feedback does not entitle her to authorship or any other rights in Participant's work. Course materials, including videos, interactive pages, workbooks, frameworks and written resources, are the intellectual property of Instructor.
10. Outcomes and limitation of liability
Instructor's guidance is educational and advisory. It is not legal, medical, statistical or other professional advice. Participant remains responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their research, for authorship and co-author agreements, and for meeting journal and institutional requirements.
Instructor makes no guarantee about publication, peer review results, journal acceptance, timelines, or any other decision made by a third party.
Instructor's total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount Participant paid for the Program.
11. General
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. It is the complete agreement for the Program and replaces any other service agreement for this Program. Where this agreement and the Program page differ, this agreement governs. Instructor may update these terms for future cohorts; the terms in effect when Participant enrolls apply to their enrollment.Â
